Why Impact Glass

Built for Florida from the start

Central Florida sits in wind-borne debris territory, and the Florida Building Code requires protected openings in much of the region. Impact-rated glazing is the permanent way to meet that requirement — laminated glass and reinforced frames engineered to take a hit and stay in the opening.

Always on

Impact windows and doors protect around the clock. There are no panels to install before a storm and nothing to take down after.

More than storms

The same laminated construction that resists debris also cuts outside noise, blocks most UV, and makes forced entry far harder.

Documented protection

Every unit we install carries its product approval documentation — the paperwork your permit package and insurer will ask about.

What We Install

Complete units, furnished and installed

We supply and install full impact-rated window and door units — frame, glazing, and hardware — for both residential and commercial projects across Central Florida.

  • Impact windows — single hung, horizontal roller, casement, picture, and architectural shapes for whole-home replacements or single openings
  • Impact entry & French doors — hurricane-rated door systems with laminated glass
  • Impact sliding glass doors — heavy-duty rated sliders for patios and lanais
  • Commercial impact glazing — storefront and entrance systems for offices, retail, and multi-family

Who pulls the permit?

Permitting and inspections are handled by the property owner or general contractor — we don’t pull permits. What we do provide is everything the permit package needs from the product side: Florida Product Approval / NOA documentation and specs for every unit we furnish and install.

Products

Brands we work with

We install impact products from established Florida manufacturers — PGT, CGI, ES, WinDoor, Trulite, and Aldora, among others — matched to your project and budget. All products carry their applicable approvals, and we provide that documentation with every job.

Process

How an impact project works

1

Consultation & measurement

We review your openings, goals, and budget, then measure every opening for exact fabrication.

2

Product selection & quote

We match manufacturers and configurations to your project and give you a written quote. Pricing depends on project size and product — estimates are free.

3

Fabrication

Impact units are made to order. Plan on roughly six weeks or more from order to delivery — we’ll confirm current lead times when you order.

4

Installation

Our crews furnish and install the complete units. The property owner or GC handles the permit and inspection; we coordinate on scheduling and provide the product documentation.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do you pull the permit for impact windows?
No — permitting and inspections are handled by the property owner or general contractor. We furnish and install the units and provide the Florida Product Approval / NOA documentation and specs your permit package needs.
How long do impact windows take?
Impact units are made to order, so plan on roughly six weeks or more from order to delivery; we confirm current manufacturer lead times when you order. Installation scheduling is confirmed with your quote.
Do you handle residential and commercial projects?
Both. We install impact windows and doors for homes as well as impact storefront and entrance glazing for commercial buildings, using manufacturers like PGT, CGI, ES, WinDoor, Trulite, and Aldora.
Is window film the same as impact glass?
No. Standard window film — including security film — is not code-approved hurricane opening protection in Florida. Impact-rated glazing is engineered and tested as a complete unit: laminated glass, frame, and anchoring together.
Will impact windows lower my insurance?
Impact-rated openings may qualify you for wind-mitigation credits on your homeowner’s policy. Ask your insurer what documentation they need — discounts and requirements vary by carrier.
Do you replace just the glass in my existing frames?
For hurricane protection we furnish and install complete impact-rated units — the rating applies to the whole assembly, not the glass alone. If you have broken glass in an existing frame, see our glass repair service.
